Great Jamaican Vegan Food In Tacoma

Ξ March 17th, 2008 | → | ∇ Food |

We ate at Quickie Too in Tacoma’s Hilltop neighborhood today. The cafe is at 1324 Martin Luther King Jr. Way and 13th street.

They really give vegan food a good name - all the food we tried was great. I was surprised at how light and tasty the dishes were - in particular the Mac & Yease (macaroni and cheese…except made with nutritional yeast and a secret blend of spices…we asked, but they aren’t giving out the recipe). The desserts were excellent as well.

They use ingredients like plantains, seitan, tempeh and Jamaican Spices that really make their food stand out.

This is the kind of place you would never think to stop at if you were just driving by - but I assure you, that you won’t be dissapointed if you try it out. They have sister restaurants in Capital Hill and the U District as well.
